After working with Carnegie Mellon University – Entertainment Technology Center on their website, 4CDesignWorks was engaged to update their publishing website dubbed “The ETC Press.”

The engagement consisted of having an online hub that could manage publications, events, and be managed via a CMS (Content Management System). With a focus on the publications, search became an integral feature of the website and it’s prominently featured on all pages. In addition to showcasing the specialized publications, features such as creating a hierarchy for authors, providing multiple download and purchase options, as well as details of each item were important.

The result is a website that provides not only quick access to many publication titles, but events, sharing capabilities and more from a desktop or on a mobile device (tablet or smart phone).

The ETC Press was founded in 2005 under the direction of Dr. Drew Davidson, the Director of Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center (ETC), as an academic, digital-first (but not digital only), open access publishing imprint.

They publish academic and trade books and singles, textbooks, academic journals, and conference proceedings that focus on issues revolving around entertainment technologies as they are applied across a variety of fields.
