Evaluation of Symphony Orchestra Landscape

The Executive Director of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra (JSO) reached out to 4CDesignWorks to engage in an effort that included logo and identity exploration as well as a wholesale visual design overhaul of their printed materials in support of the upcoming season.

An on-site discovery session was held to review recent national rebranding that symphonies have gone through as a glimpse of the environment and how JSO could be positioned.

Logo Refinement & Season Suite Support

Ultimately, the governing board favored making refinements to the existing logo, rather than a completely new concept. The revised logo is accompanied by significant changes to the overall brand visuals including consistent sub-brand entity artwork provided, a refreshed color palette, graphic art file templates (for the season, flyers, and half-page magazine placement), as well as a comprehensive branding guide was supplied to help the JSO marketing team focus on their day-to-day tasks, while keeping a consistent message and visual presentation for the symphony orchestra.
