Now Booking the RADdest Pittsburgh Attractions
In early 2024, Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) was looking to create a new experience from May through August for families to visit several of the ‘burgh’s popular attractions (including the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium, the Heinz History Center, Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Museum of Natural History and more). This initiative offers more than 100,000 free admissions through a RAD Pass reservation and an Allegheny County library card.
In their search for a design partner to create an identity for this summer program, the Communications Manager for RAD found 4CDesignWorks based on the strength of several positive reviews and high rankings in the Pittsburgh region and made contact to discuss the next steps.
Once the project outline was agreed upon, a kick-off meeting was held to obtain information to drive the logo design. From there, concept sketches were created and presented. A select batch of logo concepts were translated digitally as one color (black and white) graphics and presented for the final selection of 2.
Identity Selection & Refinement
Two directions were selected and further refined and presented with potential application directions to help RAD decide and see how the logo could exist in a variety of mediums (social posts, limited color printing, flyers, and magazine ads).
In short order, the final logo was selected and 4C completed the project by supplying a brief logo guide and all source logo files so RAD could utilize them as desired moving forward.
Promotion
As a follow-up, 4CDesignWorks created graphic designs for promotional efforts including billboards, a rack card flyer, and bus shelter posters. In a moment our design team was giddy over, these items were advertised on television as news coverage took place to promote the program!
