New Brand for Evolving Company

Following a competitive review and healthcheck of existing branding, digital marketing, and traditional advertising needs, Telephonix selected 4CDesignworks to help their company with a new corporate logo and stationery kit, marketing support, and a new company website. Bottom line, Telephonix was experiencing planned growth in several sectors; they were expanding their skill sets and services; and what’s more, they expected to move into a new and larger facility in the coming year. The time was right for an updated and more progressive marketing approach in order to maintain their competitive position and image for their corporate clientele in Western Pennsylvania.

Strategic Branding Process

The first discussion centered around the existing brand, the perception of the company, and the broad services offered.  In the evaluation of the brand accompanied by a competitive analysis, it was apparent that a new branding strategy and a logo redesign was needed.  Several concepts were created that focused on the marquee offerings from Telephonix, placing more emphasis on total system integration and life safety services.  These logos ranged from the techy cable look, to abstract interlocking shapes, to custom created typography.

The resulting new logo speaks to their strength and leadership in the industry, their progressive outlook, and their responsive performance in meeting their client’s needs. The new design also offered a wide range of marketing uses and applications, from watermarks, to patterns, and from icons to linear lines.

The Telephonix corporate identity was honored with a Gold Hermes Award in the logo design category.

Branding Color Exploration

It’s worth mentioning that various colors were explored as part of the logo design process, with Magenta being highlighted as a possible differentiator in the industry that is stuck in a sea of blues and (interestingly enough) local yellows/golds.  After seeing it applied within the logo and products the team liked the bold approach and the fact they could “own” the color.

Brand Extensions & Advertisements

A suite of icons was created to accompany the logo and the “integration service wheel” artwork became a fixture for multiple advertisements, proposed truck wraps, and presentation materials.  Due to the timeliness of several immediate needs, 4C then supplied stationery and business card designs, small space ads and truck wraps so the Telephonix team could immediately start their transition to the new brand.

New Website

The next step was extending the brand into a new website, working with the Telephonix marketing group on their site navigation. 4C developed several home page designs, reflective of the company’s current offerings, partnerships, and look the company wished to project in support of future growth.

It was important to use dynamic and realistic photography, showing the technicians in action. Content was also an important part of this exercise, as improved SEO was an important goal for this project. Once CMS training was complete, the site was ready, tested, and cleared for final launch – completing the progressive and modern appearance.
