With a solid understanding of project requirements and the Multiemployer Pension Reform act of 2014, the team at 4CDesignWorks developed a strategy to create and support electronic and face to face communications, working closely with Pittsburgh-based MUS Law. We also created a name and brand, with related fonts and a color palette to support the new Retiree Representative position.

It was great to be able to have one team who delivered all the marketing, technology and communications support I needed in this challenging role.  Informative, talented and responsive, I would highly recommend 4C to any of my colleagues faced with a similar situation.”

Bill Lickert, Western PA Teamsters Retiree Representative

The WPATRR Logo was recognized by MarCom, with an Homorable Mention award in the Print Creativity Logo category.

Western PA Teamsters & Employers Pension Fund Retiree Representative Logo paired with the "Lickert Listens" Logo created for electronic newsletter and other communication purposes

With domain names secured, we assisted with website development, with flexibility as a key part of our goal.  Postcards announcing the new site and a letter writing campaign was also an integral part of our support.  We also worked to map their existing retirees so we could better plan locations to hold town hall presentations.  The WPATRR is well poised for future proactive communications.

Speaking of ‘communications,’ the introductory direct mail postcard design received recognition in the self promotional outbound marketing campaign category of the GDUSA American Graphic Design Awards.

The Pension Fund’s Trustees decided to file an application with the United States Treasury Department under a law called the Multiemployer Pension Reform Act of 2014 (MPRA also known as the Kline-Miller Act).  MPRA requires the Pension Fund’s Trustees to appoint a Retiree Representative due to the number of participants.  The only requirement to serving as Retiree Representative is being a participant in pay status in the Pension Fund.

Bill Lickert, Jr was appointed as the Retiree Representative for the Western Pennsylvania Teamsters and Employers Pension Fund.  Bill was a member of the Teamsters for 28 years before he retired and is currently receiving benefits from the Pension Fund, while having family members that are contributing to the fund.
