Electric Company Website Redesign
As a leading electrical contractor with a long-standing history in the Pittsburgh region, Sargent Electric has spent the last decade expanding and growing. To highlight that growth, a new website was needed to not only showcase the new locations, but display new projects, and updated service-line information.
Originally, the principals at Sargent Electric decided to partner with 4CDesignWorks back in 2013, based on exposure to their creative work along with their consistently growing experience and recognition in Marketing, Design, and Social Networking.
4CDesignWorks was already entrenched with Sargent to maintain the previous version of the website, but it required an architectural and visual rebuild. Before transitioning and building out the new website, a new hosting environment and provider were needed. 4C provided recommendations and supported the migration, ensuring the move was in place and the existing website was as stable as possible before building out the new version.
Following the established and time-tested website redesign process that 4C has executed in the past, a competitive analysis was handled first to get a baseline of the overall landscape to make suggestions for creating the new website.

The new website navigation was rebuilt in a big way. This included large changes to not only the visuals but overall structure:
- Markets were created as verticals for their key services, and custom icons were created complete with hover animations. These pages were also rewritten by the knowledgeable staff at Sargent within each market.
- The Capabilities page was reworked as an overview.
- New pages for Storm Response and 24/7 Services were created.
- Dedicated Location pages for each of the 6 physical offices, with room to grow as needed.
- A rebuilt custom interactive location map.
- A more complex contact form that links to the locations was also created.
Even though this was a new website, the result was an organized and user-friendly website that was well-received by members of the Sargent community!
The team at 4CDesignWorks was very helpful in explaining the importance of a responsive and readily accessible website in today’s mobile-ready environment. I was also very happy with the CMS training I received as part of the experience. I feel empowered to manage our website now and into the future.
