Branding Discovery

Faris Distribution came to 4CDesignWorks with a rare opportunity to start from a nearly “blank slate” to start in regards to the presentation of the company. It was in growth mode and wanted to take the next step to compete with other distributors in the region. To do this, they needed a brand and a website.

A discovery meeting was held at the 4C office in Verona, where many topics were covered to get a sense of what was needed for the brand and a high-level plan of when those items would be completed.

New Branding & Logo Development

With no logo in existence, 4C went to work on the branding process. In this branding concept development phase, several logo concept sketches and digital versions were assembled into a document. This document was presented at an in-person meeting that key decision-makers attended. After internal deliberations at Faris, comments were assembled and a refined version showing a new color palette as well as an additional logo concept was provided for semi-final selection.

Concept Collaboration & Refinement

Moving forward three logo concepts were chosen and example applications were presented with each. These design applications included different patterns, icons, logo variations (badge, horizontal, vertical/stacked, just wordmark, and icon), typographic treatments, coasters, hats, cozies, embroidery, website elements, stickers, stationery, and even a truck nose cone.

Final Selection & Slogan Development

With the staff involved and engaged a final brand was selected. Final comments included merging some pattern artworks, but the overall logo appearance and the variety in presentation reflected the company mission of “Drinks Done Right” – which became the slogan intended for use as headlines when needed.

New Swag

The excitement for the logo and the company’s involvement in the process led the principals to work with 4C to get gifts for the employees with the new logo on it.

Website

While there are plans to build out an entire website, a temporary landing page that holds an intake form was needed. The immediate need was to have something displayed at the URL so that it could start to gain some organic traction and pick up some keywords over time. 4C suggested pooling all comments from the 3 provided home page designs from the conceptual branding applications to narrow down supportive assets that might be needed sooner and get the landing page launched. These comments were grouped and after securing hosting, the landing page was built and launched to coincide with some internal items being produced for the year-end.
